Give Black Raleigh Her Flowers

Give Black Raleigh Her Flowers
guest curated by Courtney Napier

May 7 - June 25

exhibition photography by Sally Van Gorder

Give Black Raleigh Her Flowers is the premiere exhibition for Black Oak Society and its founder, Courtney Napier. In an emotional tribute to the Black women who built our capital city, a line up of five of the Triangle’s most distinguished photographers have created artistic portraits befitting of each woman’s regal nature. Artists include Derrick Beasley, Samantha Everette, Anthony Fitzpatrick, Phillip Loken, and Cornell Watson. Visit the Anchorlight gallery May 6- June 25, 2022 and be transported to a royal portrait hall in honor of some of Raleigh’s great unsung Black matriarchs and give these women the flowers they deserve.
