Brightwork Professional Development Grant Recipients
In addition to our flagship fellowship program, the Brightwork Foundation offers two grant opportunities, a Professional Development Grant and a Studio Project Grant, to NC based visual artists.
At this time, one artist will be awarded a grant in each category annually.
Chloé Rager
2026 Professional Development Grant Recipient
Chloé Rager makes sculptures, installations, and photographs that are critically engaged with the built environment. Through investigations of material culture and architectural forms, Rager’s artworks and projects consider the often concealed relationships between body, material, and power. Chloé engages work as a sculptor, designer, and educator based in Durham, NC. She is a co-curator and collective member at BASEMENT, an artist-run project space that supports experimental and critical art practices in the southeast. Through her art practice and beyond, Rager is committed to skill-sharing and collective visioning.
